The short version. We collect what the app needs to work and nothing else. We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. Your progress photographs are stored privately and no other user can access them. You can delete everything, permanently, from within the app.
1.1 ALTER is operated by Roxy Alterio, trading as ALTER, of Queensland, Australia. We are the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
1.2 This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how you can access, correct or delete it. It is written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Basic technical information necessary to operate and secure the Service, such as device type, operating system version, and error diagnostics. We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
If, and only if, you grant permission, we read step count and activity data from Apple Health, and write completed workouts back to it. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings. Data read from Apple Health is used solely to display your activity within the app and is never disclosed to any third party.
Health information, including your body measurements, menstrual cycle data and progress photographs, is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and attracts a higher standard of protection.
3.1 We collect this information only with your consent, which you give by entering it into the app. Every field of it is optional except those required to calculate your targets.
3.2 We use it solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use it for marketing, we do not profile you with it, and we do not disclose it for any secondary purpose.
3.3 You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the relevant data or your account.
4.1 Progress photographs are stored in private storage. They are not publicly accessible and cannot be reached by any other user of the Service under any circumstances.
4.2 Images are served to your own device using short lived, signed links that expire automatically.
4.3 We do not view, analyse, moderate or process your photographs. We do not use them for training any model, for marketing, or for any purpose other than displaying them back to you.
4.4 When you delete a photograph, or your account, the underlying image file is deleted from storage, not merely hidden from view.
We use personal information only for the following purposes:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not disclose it to data brokers, advertisers, or insurers. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence models. We do not display advertising.
6.1 We will send you marketing communications only if you have opted in. The consent box at sign up is unticked by default and we will never pre tick it.
6.2 You may withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by emailing us. This does not affect service messages necessary to operate your account.
7.1 We disclose personal information only to the following categories of recipient, and only to the extent necessary:

7.2 We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of any person.
7.3 Some of these providers store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8.1 Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and are never stored in a readable form, including by us.
8.2 Access to your records is enforced at the database level, so that your data is retrievable only by your own authenticated account.
8.3 No system can be guaranteed absolutely secure. In the event of an eligible data breach we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
9.1 We retain your personal information only while your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the Service.
9.2 When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted, including your logs, measurements, cycle data and image files. This cannot be reversed.
9.3 We may retain limited records where required by law, for example basic transaction records for taxation purposes.

11.1 If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first at info@alteryouapp.com. We will investigate and respond within 30 days.
11.2 If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or by calling 1300 363 992.
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it.
We may update this policy. Where a change is material we will notify you within the app or by email before it takes effect. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will always tell you which version applies.
